The TDR-30G was designed to deliver on this challenge, achieving higher productivity, lower maintenance cost and a budget conscious purchase price.

With a 34% increase in productivity compared to a 22 foot mower and the reduction in Maintenance time created by maintenance free spindle bearings, extended PTO greasing intervals and greaseless joint bushings, the “right sized” TDR-30G mower is designed to drive operating costs down, while still offering the simplicity of operation that a Progressive Tri-Deck mower is known for. The innovative, contour hugging floating “Flex Deck” wing design and 4-way hinge connection combine to ensure that the TDR-30G will deliver a cut quality that rivals the more expensive 5 deck mowers.

Maintenance Free Blade Spindles

Several years ago, Progressive introduced maintenance free blade spindle assemblies and incorporated them as standard equipment on the TDR-30G. The blade spindles are assembled with bearings that are packed with permanent grease. Developed and tested over many years, these sealed bearings incorporate a unique steel seal that is designed to keep lubrication in and contaminates out, providing superior bearing life in demanding conditions. Completely interchangeable with our conventional greased bearings, so older spindles can be upgraded. Maintenance free blade spindles not only protect the owner’s investment from a missed service, they also reduce routine maintenance time and cost.

Extended PTO Greasing Intervals

All of the shafts including the slip joints on the TDR-30G have 100 hour greasing intervals. Additionally, the grease fitting for each universal has been relocated making it easier to see and grease. The extended greasing interval means more productive mowing time is available each day. The easier accessed grease points mean they’ll be serviced when they are scheduled – protecting your investment. A daily pre-use walk-around of the mower and tractor should always be performed, but now this task can be accomplished in less time.

Deck Covers

Access to the top of each mower deck is needed for periodic cleaning, belt inspection and adjustment. Progressive has designed the TDR-30G for easy access as only a few bolts need to be removed to access the two belts on each main deck or the single belt on the outer decks.

Drive Belt Design and Adjustment

Efficient power transmission is essential to a quality cut and lower operating costs. The TDR-30G is designed using only two belts per deck. Additional belt wrap around the pulleys enhances belt life as the belt is less likely to slip. A simple jack screw on the idler pulley is used for belt adjustment – deck drive gear boxes do not need to be repositioned, saving time and trouble. Belt adjustment should be the only reason to remove a deck cover other than for inspection and cleaning.
